Common questions.
First time walking into a jiu-jitsu academy? Here's what new students ask most.
What should I bring to my first class?
Comfortable athletic clothes (shorts and a t-shirt or rash guard), a water bottle, and an open mind. Train barefoot on the mat; wear sandals for walking around.
Do I need a gi to start?
No-Gi classes only need shorts and a rash guard. For Gi classes you'll need a gi — adult gis ($149) and kids gis ($120) are available at the academy.
I've never trained before — is that okay?
That's exactly who Fundamentals is built for. You don't need to be fit, flexible, or experienced. Everyone on the mat started on day one, and the room is welcoming and beginner-friendly.
When can I train?
Classes run Monday through Friday — mornings, midday, and evenings, for both adults and kids. See the full schedule for class times.
How do membership plans work?
Choose 2 days/week ($199/mo), 3 days/week ($249/mo), or Unlimited ($299/mo), month to month. Pay annually and save 10% on membership, enrollment, and gear.
How do I sign up?
